Production Facilities 

We operate the largest network of high purity gas production plants serving the manufacturing, processing and healthcare industries.

Air Separation Plants

 

  • One 1,600 tons/day air separation unit (ASU) at Jurong Island through Island Pipeline Gases (IPG)
  • Two 300 tons/day ASU at Jurong Island through Jurong Island Industrial Gas (JIIG)
  • Two 150 tons/day ASU at Jalan Buroh

We will build a new 1,200 tons/day ASU to be integrated with its existing 5 ASUs and pipeline network. This will be ready by the 3rd quarter of 2009. We operate an extensive pipeline network of oxygen and nitrogen, each totalling 40km in length which connect all the ASUs in Jurong Island and Jalan Buroh with the Jurong Island and Tuas Industrial Estates, ensuring efficiency and reliability. 

Hyco Plant

Our first hyco plant, which produces both carbon monoxide and hydrogen, was established in 1999, on Jurong Island.

Carbon monoxide is produced specifically for Teijin Polycarbonate Singapore Pte Ltd, a major company producing polycarbonate resins while hydrogen is produced for Lonza and Mitsui Phenol.

Hydrogen Plants

 

Proposed 100,000 Nm3 per hour Steam Methane Reformer expected to commence in Q2 2010

We operate two high purity hydrogen plants in Ang Mo Kio and Pioneer Road, with each having a production capacity of 500 m3 daily. All these plants have pipelines connected to the customers but also employ other means of supply including cylinders, cylinder pallets or semi-trailers.

In the second quarter of 2010, we will add a new 100,000m3/hr hydrogen production facility in Jurong Island. This facility will ensure reliability to our existing and potential petrochemical customers in the Jurong Island and Tuas Industrial Estates with the largest hydrogen pipeline network in Singapore.

Specialty Gas Centre

 

Established in 1978, our Specialty Gases Centre at Jalan Buroh is fully equipped with the latest production and handling facilities such as gas analyzers capable of tracing impurities to a sub-ppb level.

Our specialty gases product range includes high purity gases, research grade gases, gas mixtures covering primary gravimetric standards, sterilization, diving, gaseous and liquid chemical mixtures, doping and laser application.

Compressed Gases Filling Centre

 

Our compressed gas filling centre at 13 Tuas Avenue 20 is equipped with the most modern facilities incorporating vacuum systems, gas analysers and quality control systems to ensure consistently high quality standards throughout the production chain.

Electronic Gases Centre

           

We provide a comprehensive range of Electronic Specialty Gases (ESG) that is used in the various stages of the semiconductor processing in the electronic industry.

To meet the increasing demands of the electronics industry, we have invested in a state-of-the-art clean-room filling facility for the production and transfilling of ESG. This is the first advanced ESG Filling Facility in Asia and outside Japan and has an annual production capacity of 30,000 cylinders. This facility was designed with dedicated and fully automated filling systems, each built with SPC monitoring capability to ensure full traceability of the process. All cylinder preparation and filling activities are carried out in a cleanroom environment. To ensure compliance in product quality, the facility is equipped with the latest analytical instruments available for gas analysis.

Loyang Gas Centre

    

Fully operational in December 2007, our Loyang gas centre was established to serve the major aviation customers in the Loyang area via argon, oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen underground pipelines. Replacing our previous site store in Kim Chuan, this larger and more accessible location will also enable SOXAL to better meet the gas demands of our cylinder customers located in Changi, Loyang, Tampines and Pasir Ris.

Carbon Dioxide Plants

Carbon dioxide, used mainly for the food and industrial market, is produced by our joint-venture companies, Singapore Carbon Dioxide Co Pte Ltd and Sakara Island Carbon Dioxide Pte Ltd. Three plants with a total capacity of 132 tons per day are operated in Jalan Buroh and Jurong Island.

Dry ice, primarily used in airline food packaging, transportation of special items, laboratory samples and ice cream storage is produced at our facility in Jalan Buroh.

On-site Nitrogen Generator - FLOXAL Supply System

 

The FLOXALTM Supply System is an on-site generator which allows the customization of gaseous nitrogen production in the quality and quantity that the customer needs. This System uses the process of membrane separation or cryogenic distillation of air after compression in the air purification unit. It is also remotely monitored by a 'Teleflo' tele-monitoring system. When the generator is shut down for maintenance, nitrogen gas is then supplied through liquid nitrogen.

There are more than 4,000 FLOXALTM units installed globally of which more than 13 units are installed and managed by SOXAL at semiconductor companies.

On-Site Total Management System

      

SOXAL is the market leader in providing Total Gas and Materials Solutions ranging from supply chain activities to gas system engineering for the wafer fabrication industry. As part of its service offering, we are able to provide on-site management of the gas chemical distribution systems in the wafer fabrication industries. We have actively contributed:  

  • On-site gas and chemical management;
