Used in refineries to recover up to 98% hydrogen.

The applications of MEDALTM Membranes in a refinery include:

·          Catalytic reformer off-gas purification;

·          Continuous catalytic reforming reduction;

·          Hydrocracker purge purification;

·          Hydrotreater purge purification;

·          Hydrogen plant feed purification (when hydrogen laden streams are diverted to the unit);

·          Isobutane dehydrogenation gas; and

·          Typical hydrogen recovery can reach 98 % in volume (hydrogen purity can be as high as 99.9 %).

 

We have over 90 membrane references worldwide and MEDAL™ membranes can operate as high as 80 Bara and flow rates up to 65,000,000 scf per day or 76,700 Nm³/h. Many refineries are integrated with petrochemical plants, which can be an economical source of hydrogen.

 

MEDAL™ membranes can be used in these processes to recover valuable hydrogen. Successful MEDAL™ membrane applications include:

·          Hydro-dealkylation recycle gas;

·          Ethylene off gas and steam cracker gas;

·          Ethylene debottlenecking (OPAL™) system;

·          H2/CO adjustment for synthesis gas plants;

·          Ammonia synthesis purge streams; and

·          Methanol synthesis purges gases.
