LASAL™  [ Return towards  Gases  ]

The LASAL™ range of gases, complete with suitable equipments and services, provides solutions tailored to the requirements of all applications of laser processes.

Laser cutting was first developed in early 1970s followed by laser welding in the 1980. Within that period of time, several thousands of laser systems powered by CO2 were installed worldwide.

The applications for laser include:

  •  Cutting of all kinds of materials (metal, cloth, paper, wood);
  • Marking of products (expiry date, serial numbers, product codes);
  • Drilling (turbine parts); and
  • Welding

However, in the early 1980s, laser owners faced problems with the impure and imprecise composition of lasing gases that are supplied to them. Hence Air Liquide Research Centre, CTAS, in Paris was commissioned to work with all the laser manufacturers to develop a new and quality-assured product. After 5 years of studies and research, the LASAL™ range of gases was born.

Laser Welding
The laser beam produced by a CO2 or solid state YAG cavity using LASAL™ gas is used for high penetration and high-speed welding processes, where mainstream processes cannot deliver the required quality or productivity.

Laser Cutting
This laser cutting process can be used on any material – wood, metals, fabrics or PE plastics. We can provide you with optimized and innovative gas installations and gas equipment to meet your flow rate and pressure needs for a perfect cut.
