SOXAL Wins Contract to Supply to Intel-Micron  [ Return towards  SOXAL News  ]

Intel-Micron Flash Singapore (IMFS), a joint-venture between Intel Corp. and Micron Technology, will set up a fourth manufacturing facility in Singapore to make flash memory chips, known as NAND flash, for consumer gadgets such as digital media players. Construction of this facility began in the first half of 2007, with production expected to commence in the second half of 2008. This facility will be located in Senoko, and will be the largest NAND flash memory facility in Singapore.

SOXAL, already a long-standing partner of Micron Technology, has further strengthened the partnership through this new venture, having been selected by IMFS to be their gas partner. To support the requirements of IMFS, SOXAL will invest in two 8,500 Nm³/hr dedicated nitrogen plants with back-up facilities. SOXAL will also provide IMFS’s bulk gas requirements in helium, oxygen, argon, and hydrogen. This new contract reinforces SOXAL’s unrivaled position as the industrial gas market leader in Singapore and represents yet another milestone in SOXAL’s track record of supporting the gas requirements of the electronics sector in Singapore.
