Laser Cutting  [ Return towards  Applications  ]

Laser cutting, which is mainly used on thin metals requiring high precision and productivity and on materials such as wood, fabric and PE plastics, is performed by a focused beam and a cutting jet that ejects molten metal.

The laser beam is produced by an electrical discharge inside a cavity filled with a gaseous medium containing mainly nitrogen, carbon dioxide and helium. Certain applications use a solid state laser, where the laser beam is generated by an excitation of a YAG solid state barren.

We have a range of lasing gases – LASALTM  1, 2, 4 (N2, CO2, He, laser grade) or one of the lasing mixes from the LASALTM range , to meet all your flowrate and pressure needs for CO2 lasing gases.

Recommended cutting gas:

  • Carbon steel:LASAL™  2003
  • Stainless steel aluminum: LASAL™ 2001
  • Beam purging: Nitrogen
